Government of Indonesia requested Open Space of Democracy for Papua
Jayapura, West Papua National Committee (KNPB) and the West Papua National Parliament (PNWP) again asked the Indonesian government to open up the democratic space as possible for the people of West Papua.
"Space lands democratic Papuans continue to be silenced by the government of Indonesia through Papua Regional Police, we have requested a democracy it should be opened."
This was confirmed by a spokesman for the National KNPB, Rocky Wim Medlama, when giving information to journalists on Saturday (5/01/2013) and Café Prima Garden, Abepura, Jayapura, Papua.
The same thing is also conveyed by the chairman PNWP, Buchtar Tabuni, through the chairman of the Regional Parliament (PRD) Port Numbay, Judge Bahabol, the Papua Police urged not to continue to suppress the people of Papua.
In addition, PNWP also urged the Papua Police to immediately remove all members of KNPB and other Papuan activists in the List People Search (DPO).
PNWP also urged the police to immediately release Papuan KNPB members and civil society were detained without clear evidence to date.
"We also will not register KNPB and PNWP in Kesbangpol, therefore Papuan Police do not keep our force," close Bahabol that on that occasion in damping some other KNPB board.
